6000L of Trash in 9 Months

We are done with our project and have some great results to share with you! The picture resembles the trash we've collected.

Us With 6000 Liters of Trash

Our project have taken us through many places, and we have learned alot during our travels. All from food, culture, outdoor life, cleaning nature and how the different countries keep up with the waste disposal.

We have seen many great things. The glaciers in the snowy alps, the black waters of Schwarzwald and the Griffon Vultures of The Pyreneés. We’ve seen so many things it’s hard to decipher where and when we did see them.

Our experiences has varied from good to worse but we’ve grown with every single one. We’ve walked through wolf manifested areas, we’ve had strangers sleeping in our tent, we’ve made new friendships that will last forever. Looking back on our journeys we’ve done so many things we never thought we’d ever do.

Our Walk Of Nature have been supported by you; or follwers, our sponsers and friends; both old and new found ones. This project has been appreciated by various people and for some it has been more confusing than anything. It has also been further conveyed through internet by various sites and even by lokal papers in Sweden and in Germany. We even got in contact with a company i Spain that focused on eco-tourism.

Our main focus was to gather the trash we found along the hiking trails and encourage people to do the same. We noticed early on that this became much bigger than we thought which encouraged us to go even further; we started a blog, we created a facebook page, an instagram for vattie and got sponsors to help us through the journey. Without the support from our followers and our sponsors we probably wouldn’t have gotten this far.

From the start to finnish we have walked ca 1500 kilometers and picked around 6000 liters of trash in the nature! You can see the statistics at the bottom of this page.

What was the best about this whole project? The gratitude we got from people, the appreciation of the idea we had, the change we did. The fact that people of their own accord decided to help us clean up nature was one of the greatest feelings we could achieve. It was not only we who gained inspiration but our actions spread awareness and inspired many other people to take care of nature and theirselves. Those of you who’ve expressed this to us; we are eternally greatful!

Actually we enjoyed inspiring people so much that we’re working on being able to reach out to even more people, schools, organizations and clubs are on the agenda. We will have three different orientations; Easy ways to take care of nature, Traveling with a dog and Long distance hiking.

We’re also planning to create an account on youtube so that we can repost our videos in better quality and post some new ones in the making.

As you can see even if the project itself is over we are far from done. We have many plans ahead and we want you to be able to take part of them aswell.

Last week we were in contact with NSR which is a waste disposal company driven to make the trash situation better for the north-western part of Scania. We interviewed them to learn more about the waste disposal program in Sweden, we plan to share this with you as soon as possible.

Until then have a great time!
